We say we love people
but I wonder if we only like people
until we are disillusioned with them.
If, after being disappointed in one
we used to like,
we continue to love them
because the love of God is shed abroad
in our hearts
and because we realize that the offending
party may be just as disillusioned with us
as we are of them-
it is then that we begin to understand
the true nature of love.
The closer we get to people
the greater the likelihood that we
will see who they really are and
the greater the likelihood that
they will see who we really are.
Oh, to live in the grace,
that loves people on the other side
of disillusionment
and disappointment.
For while we were yet sinners,
Christ loved us
and died for us.
And we are called to follow in His steps.

1 Cor. 13:4-8-
"Love suffers long and is kind;
love does not envy;
love does not parade itself,
is not puffed up;
does not behave rudely,
does not seek its own,
is not provoked,
thinks no evil;
does not rejoice in iniquity,
but rejoices in the truth;
bears all things,
believes all things,
hopes all things,
endures all things.
love never fails.
LOVE NEVER FAILS.
If we love people,
that love will not fail us
even if they do.
If people love us,
that love will not fail them
even if we do.
Beloved, let us love one another
for love is of God
and whoever loves
is born of God.
