For Lindsay B~
Home-schooling mom
and so much more.
I love you!
I used this little poem years ago to help teach
my kindergarten students how to form their numbers.
I have no idea who wrote it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Straight line one is fun.
Around and back on the railroad track
is two, two, two.
Around the tree, around the tree
That's three.
Down and over
and down some more-
That's four.
Fat old five
goes down and around.
Put on a hat
and see what you've found!
Down to a loop-
Six rolls a hoop.
Across the sky
and down from heaven.
That's seven.
Make an S and do not wait;
Go back up-that's an eight!
An oval,
then a line.
That's nine.
A line,
a zero then-
That's ten.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There you go, Lindsay dear.
Give Adi and Emma hugs and kisses
from their Auntie Annette!
