Simon Says

A cautionary tale meant to warn all of us
to think for ourselves
and to avoid falling prey to the pressures
of society and religiosity.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Simon says
Raise your hands
Simon says
Say your prayers
Simon says
Turn around
Simon says
Touch the ground
Simon says
Think like this
Simon says
Act like that
Little puppets
Think like this
Little puppets
Act like that
Little puppets
Here and there
Little puppets
Everywhere
Raise their hands
Say their prayers
Turn around and
Touch the ground
God in Heaven
Wipes His tears
Removes His light
Removes His ear
God in Heaven
Hides His face
For 'Simon Says'
Took His place
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"The fear of man brings a snare,
But whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe."
(Proverbs 29:25)

"Therefore, if you died with Christ
from the basic principles of the world,
why, as though living in the world,
do you subject yourselves to regulations-
'Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle,'
which all concern things which perish
with the using-
according to the commandments
and the doctrines of men?
These things indeed have an appearance of wisdom
in self-imposed religion,
false humility, and neglect of the body,
but are no value
against the indulgence of the flesh."
