Hertzler Doings~Aug. 30-Sept.6, 2015

Mon.-Busy day catching up. Went over to Lori's and got some clothes and then took a lot of them to Helen. Cleaned up back room, did a lot of communications, and made some traveling plans for Oct. Went over to HV for an hour or so and read. Gathered eggs. Watched a movie with Phil.

Tues.-Lisa took me to the dentist. He did a smaller procedure since I am still running a temp and he put me on an antibiotic that deals with bone infections. Slept the rest of the day. Woke up for a little and then slept through the night.

Wed.-Took N gator riding this morning. Susan and Phil worked on banking and purchasing her car. Michael went to the doctor and was sent home to rest. Sinus infection and ear infection. Phil isn't feeling well. Micah isn't either. Went over to Janelle's to discuss Jewelry website this afternoon. Weird thunderstorms with sun and rainbows. Philip was here for supper. Michael came in from resting. Phil working on bids all day. Susan working this eve. I made some apple crisp with the apple mixture the Hoffmans gave us. Also made a roast. Then some s'mores in the oven. Also a salad with turkey burger and soybeans, like a 7 layer salad. Walked in circles in the morn and talked with Judy for awhile. Heard that Erin got some good news. Can't wait to hear what it is exactly. 100.1

Thurs.-Left for Pa at 5:15 this morning. Stopped every hour to stretch, etc. Stopped at Cabela's and spent my points on a pretty snow print hoodie. Got to Dianes around 3:30. Went swimming while talking. Ordered in pizza and wings. Stayed up late talking. Got to see Zack.

Fri.-Coffee with Diane. Lounged around talking. She made her famous eggs with cheese and toasted rolls with jelly. Left at 12 and went to Naomi's. We went to a yard sale that supports missions. Bought a Jack Lalane juice, Lincoln Logs, and a bag of silverware for Jessica. Went to Vinoli's Restaurant and met Ashley there. Server got Ira Wagler to come over to our table to visit. I wish I had his book along for him to sign. Went back to Naomi's house and went SD in the pool in the dark. Then watched 'Safe Haven' while snacking on M'M's and chocolate milk and pretzels and molasses cookies.

Sat.-Up early to have coffee with Mabe and Naomi. Naomi left to go set up candy table at Stoltzfus's and I went over to Rosalees at 8. Abie, Karen, and Annika were there for an amazing breakfast of sticky buns, yogurt/fruit/granola parfait, and a hashbrown/sausage/egg/cheese casserole. Sat around and talked. Had more of the same for a late lunch. Left for the Zimmerman/Martin wedding at 3:30. So good to see Rosa and Bev and the girls. Beautiful wedding. Left right away to help Naomi set up the candy table, light candles, etc. One of the basket of rolls caught on fire. We scrambled to put it out and to clean up the mess it left on the bridesmaid table. Food was delicious-roast beef, chicken, green beans, gourmet mashed potatoes, salad, rolls, and all kinds of pies, wedding cake, cookies, etc. Naomi had graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate at her candy table. You could fill bags and then roast the marshmallows over a fire outside. We played corn hole too. Julie and I won. We played against Mabe and Bev. It was great fun and I was far too noisy. When it was time for the bride and groom to leave, we lined the driveway with light from sparklers. It was dark and it was pretty neat. It was especially wonderful to see Rosa's mother and father. Her mother, Anne, has had a battle with cancer and she looked great and so far she is winning.

Sun.-Had a relaxed morning at Rosalee's and got to church about an hour late. Sat between Karen and Bev. So many wonderful people came up and talked with me and I was one of the last to leave. Johnny Brynan was there. He is our missionary friend. He is taking care of his mother in the states. Hopewell was like old Hopewell. How wonderful. Had lunch with Mom and Dad. Rested and played with Jonathan in the afternoon. Karen came over too. Also, Debra and her mother, Shirley. Jonathan had said, "My heart is overflowing with love for Aunt Annette." I love him. Had a delicious supper of popcorn, watermelon, and cheese. Went to bed before 9.
