I got this recipe from 'More-with-Less Cookbook'-Doris Janzen Longacre
Stir together and set aside.
(Usually, I use 4 times the meat and put the following ingredients in a ziplock bag so it marinates well.
But I will write the recipe as is, except for the msg. which I am omitting.)
1/4 lb. beef sliced paper thin
1/2 medium onion, chopped fine or grated
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1/4 tsp salt. (increase if using more meat)
dash of pepper
1/2 tsp. sugar
Arrange on platter, 1 head of lettuce, 2 tomatoes diced, 1 cucumber slices.
Leave a well in the center of the platter for meat.
Combine dressing in bowl and set aside:
1/2 onion, chopped
3 T. vinegar
3 T. oil
1/2 tsp. salt
dash pepper
1 1/2 T. sugar
Head 1 T. oil in skillet over high heat.
Add marinated beef and stir-fry quickly just until beef loses it's red color.
Put beef in "well" on salad platter.
Add 1 T. water to skillet, swish, and pour into dressing.
Stir and pour dressing over meat and vegetables.
Serve over rice.
One of Philip's favorite.
