"Not only are we cleansed individually by the word (JNO.15:3), but the church is CLEANSED-BY THE WASHING OF WATER WITH THE WORD. EPH. 5:26. That is why it is so important to have Scripture as a major part of the S.S. and church service!

Acts 6:15b-SAW HIS (STEPHEN'S) FACE LIKE THE FACE OF AN ANGEL
Ex.34:29b, 35a-THE SKIN OF HIS (MOSES) FACE SHONE BECAUSE OF HIS SPEAKING WITH HIM (GOD). Time with God shows on faces.

Acts 8:2-AND SOME DEVOUT MEN BURIED STEPHEN, AND MADE LOUD LAMENTATIONS OVER HIM. They knew that he was with Jesus and they wept bitterly. So is it so wrong for us to weep so bitterly when we lose one to death!?

Stephen and Philip were among those who had hands laid on them to oversee the fair distribution of food-Acts.6:3-6. Yet Stephen also taught, v 10, and worked wonders, v 8, and Philip also taught and performed miracles-Acts 8:5-7. What can be learned from this?! They were called to a serving ministry (physical) but also performed a great spiritual ministry. Did Philip leave the physical ministry and do entirely spiritual (things)-with all his traveling to Samaria and his Spirit trip to Azotus?

Neh. 5:9b-"SHOULD YOU NOT WALK IN THE FEAR OF OUR GOD BECAUSE OF THE REPROACH OF THE NATIONS, OUR ENEMIES?" Where there is no fear of God, reproach is brought on the name of God because of sin.

1 KINGS 17:18-"YOU HAVE COME TO ME TO BRING MY INIQUITY TO REMEMBRANCE." When death took her child, the widow of Zarepath immediately thought of her sin as the reason-our immediate response still to loss and trouble. But if that were the case, every parent would lose a child, for all have sinned..

ROM. 9:1b-MY CONSCIENCE BEARING ME WITNESS IN THE HOLY SPIRIT- The relationship between conscience and the Holy Spirit. I had often wondered about the reliability of the conscience but when guided by the Holy Spirit it is valid and an unerring guide.
