Gems from Mother's Journal

The story of those extra 15 years for Hezekiah has never fully left me in peace, for that horrible, wicked Manasseh was born during that time. But this time reading the story in 11 Kings and 11 Chron. I saw that Josiah, the most godly king since David, was Manasseh's grandson. And I felt hope, for I continued to wonder if it is right to ask God for more years here on earth. The good of Josiah can be used as an argument 'yes' as well as the evil of Manasseh, 'no', so perhaps the asking is not the problem. What is done with those extra years is crucial.

JONAH 2:9-"I WILL SACRIFICE TO THEE WITH THE VOICE OF THANKSGIVING"-Jonah says this while still in the whale's stomach and God commanded the whale to immediately vomit him up!

NUMBERS 32:6b-"SHALL YOUR BROTHERS GO TO WAR WHILE YOU YOURSELVES SIT HERE?" Reuben and Gad's descendants wanted to settle down in Gilead rather than go over into the Promised Land. Only when they promised to go help win the land for the rest of the Israelites did Moses allow it. We may be secure in our relationship with Jesus but we dare not sit down and settle ourselves in peace. We must do spiritual battle for those who are not "at home" in the Lord.

Things Jesus said to pray for:
Luke 21:36-That you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place~~~
Luke 22:40b-Pray that you may not enter temptation.
Matt. 9:38-Pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

Abundantly More:
Gen. 48:11-"I never expected to see your face and behold, God let me see your children as well."
