Intoxicated

My friend, Jeanne, said that she gets intoxicated with the smell of freshly mown grass. I do too. She got me thinking about what intoxicates me about spring, and I started making a list. Here it is.

Intoxicated...

...the scent of Heaven in lacy lavender lilacs
...the scent of green in freshly mown grass
...the scent of earth when rain has come to bless it~
I am intoxicated with spring.

...the sight of fog steaming up from the creek in the low grounds
...the sight of our eagle soaring effortlessly above the norm
...the sight of bluebells blanketing the woodlands ~
I am intoxicated with spring.

...the sound of baby quail seeking shelter in a group hug
...the sound of small frogs peeping in our swamp
...the sound of the early bird chirping to his sweetheart ~
I am intoxicated with spring.

...the taste of watercress on homemade bread with mayonnaise
...the taste of beef that once had roamed our fields
...the taste of onions pulled up before they're ready~
I am intoxicated with spring.

...the touch of soil in my eager hands while planting
...the touch of love from my daughter, sons, and Phil
...the touch of God on the winter snow in my heart~
I am intoxicated with spring.

Great thoughts - we had a wonderful spring (almost summer temps) day here also.
