Tom and Wendy Brynan were in Charlotte, NC, for a bus conference and stopped in at our place on Tuesday eve., 12/13, on their way home. They spent the night and stayed until 10:30 the next morning. We caught up on all fronts-family, church, business, and kitchen fiascos. It is so relaxing to be with folks who don't care that your hair is not combed nor that you think you are sick with bronchitis. (which the doctor later confirmed that day.) Our dogs didn't even bark. They remembered Wendy. Wendy is an animal lover. She wanted to bring one of the bunnies home with her. Angel whined at the door until we let her in to see Wendy. Tom was patient through it all. Their daughter, Becky, and Freeman went to school together through their elementary and high school years. When we knew we were moving down, we told our oldest two children that they could tell one person, who was to tell no one for a year. Freeman chose Becky, and she is one of the most talkative people we know. But, she kept our secret and we were proud of her. Tom, Wendy, Phil, and I studied Revelation together in their home many years ago. They have a son, Ken, who is 22. Tom and John Brynan are first cousins.
We like surprises like this...God's gifts of comfort and joy in the midst of every day living.
