You Were the Joy-Scene Eleven

Jesus speaks to audience:

"Do you know why I left heaven's glory to be born as a babe among men?
Do you know why I endured the cross and despised its shame?
Do you know what kept Me going?

It was for the joy that was set before Me.
The joy of giving you My love and having you accept it with all your heart.

The joy of knowing I would have you with Me in heaven-forever.

You were the joy set before Me."

Jesus is given a lighted lamp and begins to sing, "You Were the Joy" to the same tune as the "Remember the Joy" song the angels sang to Him. Cast members bring candles and light them on His lamp and go out into the audience and light their candles. The choir joins Jesus in singing to the audience:

"You were the joy,
You were the joy,
You were the joy set before Me.

You were the joy,
You were the joy,
You were the joy set before Me."
(continues..)

Jesus leaves and the choir re-groups and sings Martha's proclamation:

"Lord, we believe
that You are the Messiah
The Son of God who's come into the world.
And we will live with You
Eternally in heaven
No more sickness, sorrow, or pain."
