I wrote this song in 1986. The ladies at the retreat that year wanted to sing it for the church when we came back. Over 22 years ago...

Lord, my spirit's been set free
Sittin' high in heaven

My soul's in need of love

Break those chains that bind me
Let me see just what I'll be
When you're finished with me.

I wanna' soar like the eagle soars
To try my wings and fly
Free to be just who I am
Free to love my brother

Walk me through this darkness Lord
Lead me to the light
Let the things that once caused shame
Give life to those around me
Poured out wine and broken bread
Jesus offers to you
To heal your body, cleanse your soul
To let your spirit fly
