My mother and I write e-mails back and forth. Today, one of her paragraphs reads: "I've finished going through my '05 and '06 book.(journal) There's a quote in back that I've been wanting to send you so that I can put it away and start a new one.
"By virtue of our union with a sinful race we reap the harvest sown by another's sin." F.B.Meyer
Then I added,'I read this on the morning of Johnny Hertzler's funeral who was also killed by a drunken driver.'"
After reading and re-reading that quote, I am thinking we could also say, "By virtue of our union with Jesus Christ we reap a harvest sown by another's righteousness."
Neither situation represented in those two thoughts could be called "fair."
Unfair pain.
Unfair gain.
