Written Sept.19~
Don't forget, take that malaria pill this morning.
One of my favorite passages of scripture is 1 Thess. 4:14-18 as follows:
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
For this we say to you by the word of theLord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.
For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up togethr with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
Therefore comfort one another with these words.
Remember when Philip was caught up and carried away after speaking with the Ethiopian official? He was transported to another place on this earth; moved by the Holy Spirit. But this will be much greater, a massive move of God's power, when People all over the world from all walks of life and all times in history will be meeting together on the way to meeting the King of Glory in the air. Who do you look forward to seeing again? What family member or dear friend has gone on ahead of you? And our Lord, can you imagine the joy of seeing Him face to face in the company of a multitude of saints and the redeemed singing " Glory to the Lamb..."
This is too much for me. I'm going to leave it at that.
And I do look forward to seeing you again in Kenya, my dear friend John. Only this time we will be transported by British Airways, and our group isn't quite as large as the congregation who will meet in the air on the way home someday.
But there are similarities.
May God bless each one of us with His Holy Spirit's presence, peace and power today and during the trip until we are back with our immediate and church family again.
They got home last evening. I heard Phil's truck around 11. A little girl had burst from her room and went outside before her dad even got out of his truck. Phil brought home gifts that he bought from the locals. These were things they used and not things that they made to sell. The boys each have a spear and Susan has a bow and arrow and beaded bracelets and necklaces. I have a butter churn and a water bottle made from a gourd and some other things. Phil kept a record of their daily activities and read it to me this morning. It is so interesting. I will put his diary in the blog as soon as he types it up and has given copies to the rest of the team. We are trying to set up a time to get together with the team and their families for an African meal and a time to reminisce. I am so thankful that he is back home. Everyone is happier, too, dogs included.
