More Gems from Mother's Journal

Death to David would not have been a time of mystery. Neither would he have had a fear of the unknown for he was told by his God,"And it shall be, when your days are fulfilled, then you must go to be with your fathers." (1 Chron.17:11)

This idea that they are pushing that God is mother or female is ridiculous. Why would the church be His bride? And here in Hosea 2:2 God said, "For she is not My wife, nor am I her Husband."

11 Kings 18:4~Hezekiah broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made, for until those days the children of Israel burned incense to it. Satan, I'm sure, felt good about this irony. The serpent, being a type of Jesus being lifted up, became an item of worship rather than a reminder of salvation.

Amos 5:10~They hate the one who rebukes in the gate, and they abhor the one who speaks uprightly. Even so today~in the national and political arena~the religious right etc.~anyone who is against abortion and homosexuality.

I've noticed that at those times when the children of Israel returned to the Lord and worshipped, that their singing was accompanied by loud instruments~11Chron.30:21~And I usually smugly tolerate that, but the churches who have those times of loud praise are the ones that are growing.

And the people were strengthened by the words of Hezekiah~11Chron. 32:8~How often words can strengthen or weaken or condemn, encourage, etc. What do the proportion of my words do? As I think how much I need strengthening words, so may I try to do for others.

Josiah, that wonderful godly king encouraged them (priests) for the service of the house of the Lord.~11Chron 35:2~We are not kings but it shows that encouragement if necessary to those who serve God and something we can do. (No matter which kitten is here, they insist on lying on my Bible). In his instruction to the Levites~3-6~Josiah mentions David, Solomon and Moses. He knew his "Bible". Aaron and Samuel are mentioned later, also.
In the end, Josiah became headstrong also and refused to listen to the warning of Necho from the mouth of God~22~who said "Refrain from meddling with God~V.21~So he died an untimely death which was a loss also to those he led and influenced. Lesson? God can speak to us for our good through those who are not 'His people.' Becoming older does not mean becoming too wise to not need and accept advice in our daily activities and walk.
